The St.Catharines Enterprise Centre is once again offering young entrepreneurs an exciting opportunity to bring their business ideas to life through the Summer Company Program.Summer Company is funded by the Government of Ontario and provides young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to start their own business. The program offers hands-on business coaching and mentoring from local business professionals, as well as training and support from the Enterprise Centre. Successful applicants will receive an initial award of $1,500 allocated for start-up costs related to their business.
Over the course of the summer, students will learn what it takes to manage a business, including sales, marketing, bookkeeping, customer relationship management and networking skills. After successful completion of the program, participants will receive a second grant of $1,500.
As part of our selection process, we are looking for students between 15-29 years old who are interested in running their own summer business. Eligible candidates must apply before May 19, 2018 and must be:
- Attending school and returning to school in the fall
- Ontario residents, Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- Willing to commit to a minimum of 280 hours (for high school students) or 420 hours (for post-secondary students) to their business
- Not working at another job or attending school for more than 12 hours per week during the term of the Summer Company program
